Construction Technical Officer
We are expanding our Technical department, providing an exciting opportunity for you to join this dynamic team responsible for providing a home adaptations and technical service to support clients to stay safe, secure, warm and independent in their own home. The role will work closely with a wide range of clients, architectural design services, contractors, Leeds City Council, and health and social care organisations.
Experience in a construction related field or housing repair/adaptation is essential, as is the ability to produce schedule of works, ideally having an understanding of the needs of vulnerable clients, including disabled, older people and children. Knowledge of the Disabled Facilities Grant legislation and procedure would be an advantage.
You will have responsibility for managing a number of cases during the construction works, and so a knowledge of current planning and building regulation practices, health and safety legislation (CDM 2015 requirements), as well as experience of monitoring contractor’s performance and quality is essential. Managing projects of varying size/complexity and client expectations, is also a key requirement. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is essential and use of AutoCAD software would be an advantage.

Terms and Conditions
Hours: 37 hours per week. Flexi-time system in place.
Salary: £27,864 per annum
Location: Care & Repair Leeds, 323 Roundhay Road, Leeds LS8 4HT
Expenses: HMRC Fixed Profit Car Scheme Allowance 45p per mile up to 10,000 miles per yr
Pension: Auto-enrolment into the Social Housing Pension Scheme, with an employer contribution to a maximum of 5%.
Holiday: 25 days p.a. increasing to 29 days after 4 years’ service, plus 8 statutory holidays
