Leeds City Council and Voluntary Action Leeds (VAL) have launched a city-wide volunteer programme to ensure systems are in place across Leeds to care for people and communities during the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Community Care Volunteer programme is a coordinated system to ensure that the most vulnerable people receive help, and that all volunteers and recipients of support are safe.
If you're healthy and low risk, you can sign-up on the Doing Good Leeds website here by completing the registration form.

Leeds City Council has launched a helpline so anyone in need of support can call 0113 378 1877 to be matched with a local volunteer who can help. The programme is designed so that people can sign-up to volunteer in a range of different roles, depending on availability and preference.
Volunteers can sign-up to offer practical support for vulnerable people receiving care services (such as shopping deliveries, preparing meals, making check-in phone calls) or can sign-up as an informal volunteer to help within their own neighbourhood in more general ways.
Once the sign-up form has been completed, volunteers will be sent an online induction with training and the Community Care Volunteer team will then contact individuals to match them with opportunities to help.
