About Chris Popple
I began my career serving my apprenticeship at George Wimpey back in 1977 as a carpenter joiner and have since worked for several construction companies: For John Laing’s I worked on the new build social housing estate at Whingate junction, at Forber and Wrates I worked on the gymnasium construction at Fulneck Girls School, Pudsey and worked for a small builder FN Allman on refurbishment of properties on Queen Street Morley.
I moved onto working as a joiner for Leeds City Council back in 1982 and have progressed to becoming a Technical Officer, a role which I have held for the last 21 years. After a total of 39 years at Leeds City Council I moved on to work in the Village Hotel on the maintenance team and as of November 2021, I have become a Technical Officer for Care and Repair Leeds. Outside of work I enjoy golf as a member of Normanton golf club.
